I know this is late, I was busy yesterday... This week I want:
- The Further Adventures of a Call Girl by Belle de Jour
If you are the kind of person who likes wit and a good laugh, check out her blog now!!! Seriously, google her right now. I know a few people have seen the TV series with the beautiful Billie Piper, and its not too bad (lets be honest, we only really watch it cause of Billie :P), but the blog is so much better. Note, this book is the second book. I have the first one, and loved it. She has also penned a fiction book called Playing the Game which I wouldn't mind getting my hands on either...
- Memoirs of a Geisha, both movie and book
I know, its books this week, but I just want to get lost in a good novel after seeing my sisters becoming so horribly drawn into the fangirl hype that is Twilight. I won't read it because I have grown out of that stage. Maybe one day when I am very bored... Till then I will lust over more adult publications. As for Geisha, I have been listening to the soundtrack of the movie. I love John Williams and I don't care what anyone says about his work, mainly because its most likely true, but it doesn't mean it isn't beautiful and worth listening to. I tend to watch a movie for more design and creative elements, not so much the actors, i.e. Star Wars Eps 1-3 (the acting is appaling and the script hideous, but everything else is beautiful, the costumes and breathtaking...) When I was listening to the Geisha music, I was picturing scenes, and I so wanted to watch it again, which made me want to read the book.

Jobs Jobs Jobs
I thought I should give you an update on the job hunting...
Well I went for that supposed interview with Subway, except all I did was fill out a form and they said that they would call me in the afternoon to come in for an interview the next day. Never got a phonecall. No thanks but no thanks. That frustrates me, I went through all that effort and even gave them a folder which I paid for. But awell, I guess thats just the universe telling me that I wasn't meant to be there.
Yesterday I got two phonecalls. One was from Coles Express at Wallsend (its a service station, not a supermarket). I've got an interview there tomorrow at 9am. Seems I could be following in my dear friend Laura's footsteps :P
The other phonecall was from The Kavon Theme Resturaunt. Firstly their ad in the paper was very very amusing - Looking for Vampires, apply online. When I read the ad I said 'I can be a vampire'. If nothing else I'm sure I can help them save on makeup costs - yes I really am that pale. So I'm off there on the 27th at 3.15pm. I had no idea what to expect, so I asked one of my friends, and now I am even more confused. Is it going to be like an interview or an audition? I aksed what do I need to bring with me and they said 'Just Yourself'. I wonder what I will have to do, will I have to sing and dance, or just put on a corny over the top transylvanian accent? I can do that.
Stay optimistic x

Happiness is a new pen
I don't care how nerdy this post is. I just love stationary and organisation things. We went shopping today for back to school stuff. I didn't get anything expensive, I was planning on getting a journal or a calender but didn't (I still have my eye's on the Doctor Who one - it IS 2009 but its based on Series 2 with Rose, my Favourite!!!!). Instead I came home with a set of 12 coloured Staedtler triplus fineliner pens. They even came with a box. The colours are amazing - I have developed a habit of writing with purple and green ink, and they last so very very long. And they were on sale - around $12 from Big W at the moment.
Mum also thought it would be a good idea to get a couple of those subject notebooks for uni work. I've always been intrigued by them and so was more than happy to comply! Also got a pen holder from Big W, cause I don't like having pens spread across the desk.
Would have spent no more than $27 today, but I am much happier than if I had brought a new dress or pair of shoes!
Seriously, if you have no ideas about gifts for people, particularly students, I highly recommend a gift certificate for Smiggle of Kikki. K or Paperchaise.
Stay cheerful! x

Hey everyone, its Friday again! I love:
The idea of the weekend. Even though I don't have a job and am at home just like during the week, everyone else is at home, which even though can cause issues sometimes, it makes it feel like home more with everyone sitting in the lounge room watching TV or away at the shops or at this beautiful little spot in Corlette in the bay...
Becoming reaquainted with long lost friends. I never thought I'd see these people again, and that made me sad, but thats also a fact of life. But now because of circumstance I have seen these people again and have been exchanging messages. Its so reasuring just sitting there late at night talking about nights gone and reminising. I urge you all to get back into contact with one friend on your facebook or in your phone who you normally wouldn't talk to and see where it takes you. Its like a whole new beginning.
Teachers that swear and tell stories. It makes them so human and so much more easy to relate to.
The phone call before a job interview. Even though I don't have an interview yet, I get so excited and optimistic when they call and say 'we like you and we are actually considering you'. It makes me feel like I'm not so much of a failure.
Thunderstorms after a day of 40+ degrees celsius. Nothing can cool the earth down more than a beautiful light and water show...
What do you love this Friday??
P.s. I'm thinking about starting a blog about my opinions of world events and political commentary... I have a lot of opinions, lol. what do you think?

Piggy Bank
Hey all,
I keep telling myself that 'when I get a job I'm going to get this and that and this'. I see so mnay nice things its hard to keep track of what I want, so now every Wednesday I'm going to upload pictures of the delightful little trinkets that I want to save my money for. I know its a financial crisis and I should save my money, but its nice to have those little goals.
Your living expenses and bills and food should always come before these. And believe me, they do. Since I'm collecting things that I like and things to keep me positive and motivated here, these are my little pretties for this week:
I wish! I just want a nice small car that I can handle, that doesn't cost too much, is reliable, isn't a gas guzzler, is an auto, and hopefully is a Honda. For the record the above car is a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder... as I said, I wish!
Well to be honest, thats it for now... Just the car this week, how boring! But I'm sure the idea of freedom will certainly have me working hard to find a job tomorrow!
Stay sexy x

Job Searching
Well, I have been looking for a job here in Newcastle for about 3 or more months. I get so many rejection emails before the interview stage I do tend to get my hopes up in the interviews. I hate that question when they ask how long you are planning on staying because right now as a 19 year old I am not looking for a career as an office receptionist. I am completing a university degree. I also have other prospects coming up later in the year.
I'm not sure whether I like 2009 yet because I can't see what I will be doing at the end of the year. But I'm also not sure if I hate that as well. I have applied for so many different types of jobs, I'm even going for my RSA and RCG on Friday and Saturday because I have a slightly romantic idea of barwork.
Anyway, an idea as to how desperate I am, going for a big interview thing today in an hour for Subway at the University. It could be potentially humiliating because of so many people I know at the uni there that I go out of my way to stay away from, also I'm not a fan of food in general (no I'm not anorexic, I just have issues); but it could also be good cause I can see the few people I don't get to see on a regular basis that I do miss and want to stay in contact with. Maybe all the humiliation and grief I am going to get from the losers of the past that have nothing better to do than undermine my attempt at independence will be worth the few precious moments with the others that I care about...
Must go have my bath while I'm in this mood!
Stay fresh x

Beauty
Here are some beautiful pictures that I thought were too wonderful to keep to myself...
I think the teenager in all of us can relate to this one. I love the picture.
The ice is on fire! Its so mystical and beautiful. Also makes me wonder if its frozen vodka, or better yet, frozen gin...

This reminds me of the cute little cobble streets in Holland. One particular house was so quaint the top storey was shaped like a keyhole.
This is my most favourite city in Europe. Yes my friends, this is Prague. The effects in this picture help convey they old world charm which one experiences when in the city. This may well become my new desktop picture.
Let me know what you think of these...
